Top 5 Putters For 2021
Updated: Aug 18, 2021

One of the most overlooked purchases when filling out your golf bag, the putter can make, or break your golf game. Holding the perfect putter can have a colossal effect in your scores. One extra putt per hole can be the difference between a 15 handicap and a scratch golfer. So, choose wisely, it is beyond important to pick the putter that fits your games style.
So, your next question is, "What are the best putters 2021?". Great question! All of that “pick the perfect putter” nonsense sounds great, but when you actually go to the store, or search online to purchase, there are literally hundreds of options. So, how do you choose? Lucky for you, I did all the hard work, and put together my top 5 list of the putters you should look at first.
5. Pinemeadow Golf Men's PGX Putter
This affordable mallet putter cracked our Top 5 for a number of reasons, but mostly because it feels great, sounds great and looks great. The Pinemeadow PGX Putter checked a lot of our boxes.

Let’s start off with the color. The stark white finish is eye catching, and put it against the green grass and this putter really stands out, but the color choice wasn’t just for looks. When addressing your ball, the contrast of the white helps to focus on the three alignment guides, making your put that much more accurate.
The feel of the club is solid, and with the extra 40g of weight, you get a balanced, but powerful stroke. The shaft is made of steel, rather than the trendy graphite, which helps to add weight and balance. Because it is heavier, you will tend to notice that your back is straighter on your follow-through, which I’ve always had a problem with. Keeping that consistent pendulum line is not a problem with this putter, which should help to improve your scores. You will notice the smooth roll of the ball after the strike, not the ever-feared skipping which can deviate the path to the hole.
Overall, this is a terrific putter for any golfer, but it is really geared to the beginner. With a solid look, feel, and price tag, this putter is one of our picks for top putter in 2021.

4. Cleveland Golf 2135 Satin Cero Putter
The Cleveland Golf 2135 Satin Cero Putter engineers get it. By creating milled variable depth grooves on the face creating the optimum level of speed control. This line offers a variety differing sizes of head and inserts, giving you options based on your game.

Think about when you address a put? Do you have your eyes directly over the ball? The Cleveland engineers don’t think so, so they came up with a nifty solution to improve your alignment. They discovered if they raised (and highlighted) the sightline up to the height of the balls center, they can improve your alignment and create a more accurate stroke. Pretty cool, right? But wait, that’s not all. Each of these six models has something called Speed Optimized Milling, which basically adjusts the energy transference. How does this help? Well, every putt rolls to the same distance regardless of where you hit it on the face. Meaning, off-center hits should go the same distance as square hits, giving you a bit more forgiveness with every putt.
This putter comes in at number 4 on our list based on its multi-material head construction, that uses a Polymer TPU face inserts, dampens vibrations and enhances feel, and face milling that is three times deeper than previous models, which gives each strike of the ball an exceptionally soft feel.
What we liked:
Outstanding balance.
Easy to swing.
Solid feel and role.
Provides good distance control.
Clever alignment system.
What we thought was Ehh!
Steel insert is only connected to the polymer backing
3. Odyssey Stroke Lab Double Wide
This is the first of two Odyssey putters on this list. I’ve always like Odyssey as a golf brand, but never really cared for their putters…that is until this year! The Odyssey Stroke Lab Double Wide fits comfortably at number 3 on our list.

So why the Odyssey Stroke Lab Double Wide at number 3? It’s all about the weight and balance for me. Odyssey has taken great care to modify the weight of their putters, creating a lighter shaft. The graphite body and heavier steel tip allowed Odyssey to increase the weight of the putter head sole, and the butt-end of the grip. When tested I felt a much smoother and repeatable putting stroke. Keys for me when trying to shave strokes off my game. The redesigned weight distribution, combined with Odyssey’s White Hot Microhinge face insert creates a smooth roll and distance control.
If you are in the market for a blade putter, take a hard look at the Odyssey Stroke Lab Double Wide. You get the accuracy of a mallet putter and the dexterity of a blade putter.
What we liked:
The shaft is lighter
Combination of balance and accuracy
Consistent tempo in putting stroke
What we thought was Ehh!
A little bulky for a blade putter
Standard grip doesn’t wow.
2. Odyssey Stroke Lab Triple Track Putter
The Odyssey Stroke Lab Triple Track Putter rolls in at a strong number 2 on my list. I actually had to go bac and try this putter against my number 1 pick again, but it was that close! The combination of weight and alignment were the selling points for me. This putter just felt easy to use, and I was comfortable holding it.

I’ll admit. I prefer mallet putters. I grew up with a Ping blade that I used forever because of the balance it provided, but I always tended to like the feel of the new mallet putters, and when buying one for this upcoming season, the Odyssey Stroke Lab Triple Track Putter was on my very short list.
Listen, I thought the Triple Track Technology was all marketing hype. Generated to break through the clutter of all the mallet putters on the market. Who would want the same technology that they use to land planes safely on giant on aircraft carriers? But it works. I noticed immediately my accuracy improved, and since golf is all about confidence, having confidence in my putter is huge for improving my game.
As mentioned in the Odyssey Stroke Lab Double Wide, the Triple Track mallet uses the Stroke Lab Weighting technology to create the perfect balance, which results in a better tempo and consistency in every stroke. Another advancement is the Microhinge Star Insert. It replaces the popular White Hot Microhinge insert, but gives you a firmer feel and little better sound at impact.
If you are in the market for a new putter, put this on the short list. You won’t be disappointed.

1. TaylorMade SpiderX
Number 1 on my list of Top 5 Putters this year! As mentioned earlier, this decision was tough! I loved both the TaylorMade SpiderX and the Odyssey Stroke Lab Triple Track putters almost equally. What it came down to me was how it felt in my hand, during my stroke, and how it felt coming off the ball. I swear I saw a light and heard music playing when I tried it

So, what made this number one, besides the bright light and the music playing every time I tried it? First, it looks awesome. I liked the standard black and white, but there are color options if you like to spice it up little, like the Dakota copper or Navy Blue. The Navy Blue was actually designed for Dustin Johnson, but he actually liked the Copper better.
I know what you’re saying. It looks cool, but what does the whole new design mean for the putter’s efficiency and accuracy? Well, the distinctive Spider “rocket pods” on the back of the previous versions have been replaced by two blue steel weights, that move the mass towards the rear corners. This is the first-time weights were specifically designed for their putters, previous Spiders all used the weights from the R7 Quad driver. This results in prefect balance and a consistent, repeatable stroke.
Balance is only a piece of the puzzle. Alignment is critical. You can have the perfect balance, combined with the forgiving nature of this club head, but if you are not properly aligned then all of that other stuff only gets you close to the hole. To drop that little nugget in the hole on a consistent basis you need excellent alignment. This club has it. TaylorMade did actually studies on the optimal shape for alignment, and the flowing white band, that is about half the width of a golf ball was chosen. As you address the ball you will notice that the flowing white band stands out. It kept me focused and made sure my face was square and my alignment perfect.
If you are lost in the maze of putters, take my advice and put this on your short list. You won’t be disappointed.
