The design of this driver makes you stop and take a second look, but it's really about the faster clubhead speed that will generate more distance that has us excited. TaylorMade calls this design the Aerodynamic Asymmertric Sole and Inertia Generator... We call it the Golf Ball Crushing Spaceship. Not only did we find we were hitting the ball further, but it also gave us improved forgiveness. Not a bad combination.
The overall performance is better than expected. When grabbing this out of your bag, expect to look back to make sure you took the right club because it's light. We like liked the grip, it wasn't basic and although I tend to change out my grips, this one doesn't bother me. I went with a stiff flex due to my swing speed being a bit high, but I think the regular flex would be fine also.
